We Can All Exhale Now That Jeff Hornacek Has Officially Been Named Knicks Head Coach
Time to get Hornyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy in here!!! Yes I know word came out that the Knicks were going to hire Jeff Hornacek two weeks ago. But the fact that there was never anything official had every Knicks fan worried in the pit of their stomach. Because while it seems far-fetched that a team would reportedly be ready to hire a coach only to see it all fall apart weeks later, this is the Knicks we are talking about. The same franchise that fired Hall of Fame coaches Lenny Wilkens and Larry Brown after one season. The same franchise that used the Allan Houston exception on a player not named Allan Houston. The same franchise that re-hired Isiah Thomas as president of the Liberty despite the fact Anucha Browne Sanders filed a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Isiah and The Garden. After seeing all of that occur this century, there is clearly no level of madness that this man isn’t capable of.
And if we are being honest, I am STILL not convinced this is going to happen. You know how easy it is to delete a tweet and a few PR stories in 2016? The Knicks can like a few pics of chicks with dildos in their butt on Twitter and just claim they were hacked. Seeing how the most powerful search engine in the universe doesn’t have the Knicks coach scares me too.
So on second though, I am going to keep my radar up on this one. Hornacek isn’t the home run hire that many of us wanted like Tom Thibodeau. But he is also the Not Kurt Rambis hire we wanted, which works for me. But I will not actually believe that Jeff Hornacek is officially the Knicks coach until there is an awkward picture of him next to James Dolan and/or Phil Jackson with one of them holding a basketball.
